On Prigradica Beach
Prigradica, one of the bays on Korčula Island's northern site, was originally used as a port by the people of Blato, who had their ships packed with Korčula wine and olive oil depart from the bay. The place has a port function even today (it's one of the stops on the Split-Hvar-Korčula fast ship line), still, Prigradica by now is better known for tourism and vacations. Villas and vacation houses first started to emerge around the bay, then the inhabited area started to stretch on the coastal line on both to east and west. Nowadays Prigradica has a couple dozen houses, yet it's a rather quite and tranquil place.

The coast both to east and west of the bay is rocky, however, the rather clear water is pleasant for swimming anywhere - concrete covered terraces and steps have been established here and there. For a more comfortable experience a beach covered with pebbles has been constructed at the eastern end of the bay. There is even a small gravel beach for those with little kids in the bay.

The largest capacity of beds is provided by Pansion Prigradica - besides that a plenty of villas and apartments for rent are at the guests' disposal. On top of the tavern of the pansion, Prigradica offers two more restaurants and a small grocery. For bigger shopping needs or for a bigger choice of dining locations one would go to the nearby towns of Blato (5 km) or Vela Luka (12 km).
